木材の香りは嗅いだことのある人は多いと思いますが、数ヶ月もすると何も香らなくなります。そのあとは何も出ていないかというと、実はそうではありません。香りとしては感じませんが、いろいろな成分が出ています。
測定には特殊な機械が必要なので、その機械を所有する岐阜県生活技術研究所（岐阜県高山市）の協力を得て、2018年に分析をしてもらいました。

ペンタナール、ヘキサナール、不明1、不明2、不明3、αーピネン、カンフェン、不明4、βーピネン、不明5、3ーカレン、pーシメン、Dーリモネン、テルピノレン、ノナナール、酢酸ボルニル、αーロンギピネン、不明7、αーコパエン、ロンギフォレン、不明8、βーカリオフィレン、不明9、γームウロレン、αームウロレン、不明10、Eーネロリドール
実に27種類、そのうちの10種類は主要なデータベースを使っても特定できませんでした。私たちが何も気にしていないところで、木材はこんな成分を出し続けているのです。
Many of us have smelled the scent of wood, but after a few months, nothing smells. After that, you may wonder if nothing is released, but that is not the case. Although it is not perceived as a fragrance, various chemicals are released.
Since a special machine is needed to analyze it, we had it analyzed in 2018 with the cooperation of the Gifu Institute of Life Technology (Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture), which owns the machine.
In fact, there are 27 species, 10 of which could not be identified using the major databases. Wood continues to produce these components when we are not paying attention to it.
